Regular season pre-warm up protocol: Gymnasts may not touch or use the equipment prior to the start of the 30-minute open stretch and warm-up.  Gymnasts will not be on the apparatus during visualization however they may use the surrounding matting or the floor exercise mat.

Regular season warm up protocol:. 30-minute open stretch and warm-up Regular season warm up protocol: * 30-minute open stretch and warm-up. Gymnasts may stretch and use equipment as desired.  * 15-minute warm-up on each event in competition order.  * A 2-minute transition between events will be used in the warm up. * Any event not used by an institution during the 15- minute/event warm-up periods may be used by any gymnast.

Regular season competition transition and touch warm up protocol: As competitors arrive at each event for competition there will be a 4:00 minute touch warm up on each event. All participants on each event may use the entire touch warm up time and all warm ups will begin at the same time, regardless of duration. Additionally, there will be a 2:00 minute transition between each event at the conclusion of the march in ceremony when all teams reach their respective corrals, and after each rotation when the final competitor’s initial score is flashed. (Includes exhibition routines). The PA announcer will announce the beginning of the two-minute transition period.

During the 2 minute transition during the competition, gymnasts are allowed to use matting around the apparatus to stretch, invert and prepare for the four minute touch however no gymnastics is allowed on the apparatus during this time. All equipment may be prepared for the touch warm up during this transition however no gymnastics is allowed. On floor exercise, jumping, bouncing, running, stretching warm up activity is allowed however inverting and gymnastics skills are not allowed on the floor exercise apparatus.

Equipment Check List: members of each coaching staff will walk through the competitive equipment prior to the start of the 30 minute open stretch warm up. If an issue cannot be resolved and poses a safety issue to student-athletes, the coaches and institutions participating will be contacted to decide next steps and inform the meet referee of any changes.   If an equipment issue arises during the warm up or competition, all institutions will be notified along with solutions to correct the issue. If additional time is necessary for teams to complete the allotted warm up/ competition time, that time will be given before proceeding with the warm up/ competition. It is highly recommended institutions have an equipment check done before the start of the competitive season by the manufacturer or equipment supplier. Proof of equipment check can be presented at home events to visiting institutions to support the safety of the equipment. While everything will be done to provide a safe environment regarding equipment, unforeseen events may occur during a warm up and/or competition in regards to equipment and may not be at the fault of either the host or visiting institution(s).
