RESOLVING CONFLICTS WITHOUT FIGHTING ELA WAHED RESOLVING CONFLICTS WITHOUT FIGHTING

When you hear the word “respect”, what do you think of? Briefly introduce the lesson: today we are learning about ways to resolve conflicts without fighting. In order to do that, we need to set a tone of respect toward one another.

Respect Respect is important so that we can think and learn in class, and it’s also necessary for resolving conflicts without fighting. Briefly introduce the lesson: today we are learning about ways to resolve conflicts without fighting. In order to do that, we need to set a tone of respect toward one another.

Self Concept Ask, what can happen when a person has good self-concept. What happen when a person has a bad self concept

Self Concept – Good vs. Bad Ask, what can happen when a person has good self-concept. What happen when a person has a bad self concept

Self Concept – Good vs. Bad Self-Esteem Test Ask, what can happen when a person has good self-concept. What happen when a person has a bad self concept

Put-downs! Sometimes people make each other feel bad by the way we speak to each other

Put-downs! What is put down? Give Examples. Where do people learn them? How do they make people feel? Why do we say them? If people in the class say these things to one another a lot how might it affect the group?

Put-Ups! How would these words make someone feel? What would be the effect on the class if we used these phrases instead of put-downs? Ask the class to think of put-ups, that is kind and friendly things to say to each other. List contributions on board.

Put-Ups Vs. Put-Downs!

Using Put- Ups! Ask students to think of a friend or relative. Have them write put-ups they might give those people.
