Reciprocal is the “flip” of the number Rules of Multiplication & Division Both numbers have same sign → product/quotient is positive Numbers have opposite sign → product/quotient is negative Property of Multiplicative Inverses For every number, a, there is exactly one number, b, for which a ● b = 1 (b must be the reciprocal of a) Reciprocal is the “flip” of the number Division Theorem Division can be expressed as: a ÷ b Division by Zero: Zero cannot be the denominator (divisor). This is called undefined.
