Three Steps in developing your OV-4 Step 1 - Identify the Product's Timescale Decide on the timescale that this product is expected to represent (as-is, to-be, transitional) Multiple timescales are often needed for each product; a separate OV-4 should be produced for each timescale that is needed
Step 2 - Identify Command Relationship Chart Components Identify and list all the organisational units or elements within the scope of the architecture Identify and list all the resources within the scope of the architecture Determine the relationships or interactions that occur among the organisational components For each organizational relationship, determine whether the relationship is command and control, coordination or any other relationship that is relevant
Step 3 - Illustrate the Command Relationship Chart Components Graphically depict organisational components and resources as rectangles in the diagram.
