Building a CMMI Data Infrastructure February 6-7, 2017 George Spanos Technical Director The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) Research Interests: 3D materials analyses, phase transformations, Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME), materials data storage and sharing issues Data you could provide to a Data Repository I am no longer a researcher so I have no recent or future data (but I do have access to some old 3D materials data - almost 10 years old now) Major challenges to building a shared CMMI Data Repository What you hope to get from this Workshop Incentivizaton: of data suppliers, users, and repository developers Interoperability between repositories within a federation Sustainability over time (long run): both funding support and personnel in for the long hall I hope to learn a lot about materials data infrastructure issues, contribute to the goals of this workshop, and network with people in this field.
