The egg develops inside mother hen

Mother Hen lays her egg in her nest

Mother hen sits on the egg to protect it and keep it warm This is called brooding

Mother hen lays many eggs and turns them many times to make sure thy’re warm all over.

The chicks begin to chirp and move inside the egg…I think theyre ready to hatch 

The chick uses an egg tooth to hatch. This is a tiny sharp point on the chicks beak

When the chick hatches it is wet and its feathers are down

When the feathers dry the chick becomes yellow and fluffy

The story of the hen and the chick  The hen lays eggs in her nest. She sits on them to keep them warm and protect them. She turns them many times. It takes 21 days for the eggs to hatch.

After 21 days the chicks hatch from the eggs. Their feathers are wet and Down. When they dry they will become yellow and fluffy The baby chicks can walk straight away The chicks resemble their parents throughout their life.

After 6 months the chick is a fully grown chicken. Now the cycle starts again.
