FDSN WG-1 FDSN Secretary to request updated station lists from members Nominate FDSN Backbone station from each Member Increase Backbone size 39 GSN and GEOSCOPE additions proposed Discussion of station database Tsuboi to propose STS-1 update

Guidance for Increasing the FDSN Backbone (very) Broadband. Global Coverage. Increase from current ~200 stations towards 300+. Redundancy is good in moderation. High-quality data and meta-data. Real-time encouraged but not necessary. Every FDSN member should designate at least 1 station from their network. Broaden international participation through sites in many nations. Enhance coverage in seismogenic zones (emphasizing real-time)
