Preparing for our Socratic Seminars

What do you need? Our Depth of Knowledge (DOK) handout and the text that the Socratic Seminar will cover!

You want to focus your questions so that they are utilizing the verbs from the chosen areas! When you write your questions you will identify the level as well as underline/bold the verb you pulled. And yes, you can change the ending of the word to make it work with your question!

We won’t be using Level One as it is too low level for what we need to accomplish in our discussions!

You can use the boxes at the bottom of the page that correspond to the level to help you craft your questions!

For Your Assigned Section you will Need the Following: 2 Level 2 Questions (Skill and Concept) 4 Level 3 Questions (Strategic Thinking) 4 Level 4 Questions (Extended Thinking)

You will want to label your questions like this: Level 2: Skill and Concept 1. 2. Level 3: Strategic Thinking 3. 4. Level 4: Extended Thinking Be sure you also bold/underline the verb from your DOK chart, and remember: your questions MUST be typed and in proper MLA format!

Please note that if you miss a Socratic Seminar there is make-up work Please note that if you miss a Socratic Seminar there is make-up work! So be sure you see me!
