Background History of VPE History: May, 2008: Concept by Artie Kamiya, 2004 National PE Administrator of the Year June, 2008: Partnership between Great Activities Publishing Company and Flat World Computing to develop the “Virtual PE Administrator.” October, 2009: “Virtual PE Administrator” unveiled at Midwest District AAHPERD and National Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) Conference. Nov-Dec, 2009: “Virtual PE Administrator” has been widely endorsed by college/university PE pedagogy professionals and in being pilot tested in 12 school districts across the US. Goal 2: Recruit & retain effective teachers: Creating “Virtual PE Training Centers” at colleges and universities will ensure “best practices” in all pedagogy programs.
