Week of November 13,2017 11/13-11/20- Canned Food Drive Email: ademel@elkhartisd.org Phone: 903-764-2979 Conference M -T - F- 2:30-3:15 W -Th -8:05-8:50 Week of November 13,2017 11/13-11/20- Canned Food Drive 11/13-11/16- Parent Report Card Pick Up 11/13-11/17- College Week( See other note.) 11/14&11/16- No tutorials 11/17- Thanksgiving Play 10:30 in classroom 11/17-Thanksgiving Lunch in Cafeteria 11/17- Big Kahuna deliveries 11/21- Early Release 1 p.m. 11/22-11/24- Thanksgiving Break Kyler Pierce Language Arts and Reading- Our spelling words this week will be Thanksgiving themed, along with all of our Reading/ELA work. There will not be vocabulary. Math-We will complete Unit 6 this week and test. This unit will introduce regrouping two digit addition problems. This is a very hard concept for 2nd graders. The homework I will be sending home will help with mastering the skills. Science-Earth and Space Social Studies- Thanksgiving Health- Systems of the Body and Five Senses We are collecting canned foods for our local food banks for the Thanksgiving/Christmas season. Please give as you feel led. We will collect them until November 20th. Our Thanksgiving program will be on our classroom and start at 10:30 a.m. We will then go to lunch pretty soon after. In the past my class has to wait a little bit to be called for lunch.  Please make sure and practice your child’s lines at home with them.  Students need 10 points between November 13th – December 15th with an 80% average for the 3nd 6 week prize. Second grade students must have 35 points and an 80% average for the Fall Party before December 15th.
