America’s First Terrorist? A National Hero?

What role did John Brown play in the Kansas conflicts in 1857? Brown and his sons killed supporters of slavery during Bleeding Kansas. 1. What was the goal of John Brown’s plan? To abolish slavery. 2. How did Brown intend to achieve that goal? Brown planned to seize a weapons arsenal and attack white slave owners with the help of other slaves.

4. Why did John Brown’s raid fail? No other slaves from around Virginia joined the fight. 5. What happened to John Brown and most of his men? They were tried for murder/treason and were sentenced to death.
