Bullying is Pervasive Climate must be addressed so students feel physically and emotionally safe and READY TO LEARN.

Bullying Prevention Positive culture within the school family

STAFF TRAINING Recognize the impact name-calling and bullying have on teens Understand each adult’s responsibility to act as an ally to targets Gain specific strategies for interrupting bullying behaviors Students MUST know that teachers are actively listening to every situation and will act upon bullying

PARENT, STAFF, AND COMMUNITY TRAINING Address EVERY incidence of bullying PROACTIVE TRAINING Teachable moments Include parents through PTC presentations, meetings, bulletins Every staff member must send and reinforce NO BULLYING message throughout curriculum and building SILENCE IS ACCEPTANCE

STUDENT TRAINING Every student has the RIGHT to feel safe Every student is to be RESPECTFUL of others If you see BULLYING say “We Don’t Do That Here!” If you are bullied or feel uncomfortable REPORT it to an adult.
