Buffer: a thing that shields and protects against harm or hostile forces Charter: a document issued to outline the conditions under which the colony of Georgia is organized – defining its rights and privileges. Charity: generous actions or donations to aid the poor – something given to a person in need. Paternalistic: the system of managing or governing individuals in the manner of a father dealing with his children. Fortifications: military works (a fort) constructed for the purpose of strengthening a position. Utopia: a perfect world/society
