The Class The class will meet in Bagby 120 at 8:30 - 9:20 MWF 12:30 - 1:20 on Tuesdays. The text for the course is Discrete Mathematics with Applications, 3rd ed., by Susanna Epp. The web page for the course is at http://people.hsc.edu/faculty-staff/robbk/Math262

Grading There will be Several collected problem sets 3 tests A final exam.

Grading In the final average, these will be weighted as follows. Category Weight Average of problem sets 30% Average of tests 50% Final exam 20%

Homework Homework will be assigned regularly. You should do it regularly even if I don't collect it. Once every week or two, I will collect and grade selected problems.

Tests The test schedule is as follows. Test Date Chapters #1 Fri, Feb 16 Chapters 1, 2, 3 #2 Fri, Mar 23 Chapters 4, 5, 6 #3 Fri, Apr 20 Chapters 7, 8, 9

The Final Exam The final exam will be given in this room at the time stated in the exam schedule. Everyone must take the final exam. It will not be rescheduled.

Attendance Attendance will be checked at the beginning of each class. Two late arrivals will be counted as one absence.

Attendance Attendance will be taken into account when computing final grades. Absences Action 0 – 2 Grade bonus 3 – 5 Neutral 6 – 8 Grade penalty > 8 Withdrawal
