The focus of effort is on the four test divisions that cover all aspects of Marine Air/Ground Task Force and its equipment (less manned aviation). MCOTEA is composed of a mix of military and civilians. The Marines bring operational expertise to make testing relevant to Marine Corps operations while the scientists, analysts, and mathematicians bring the technical rigor to make the results scientifically valid. The actual Marine operators for specific test events are obtained from the Marine operating forces after approval and coordination with the MARFORs. MCOTEA has three locations with the headquarters at Quantico VA, the heart of Marine Corps acquisitions. The satellite offices are located at the Marine Corps Air/Ground Combat Center and the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton CA where the majority of Marine Corps operational testing takes place.
