Presentation transcript:

Insert your Title Name University Background and Previous Research Include text here about the nature of your intervention, including important points about past research (has it been successful before? Under what circumstances?) You DO NOT need to include everything, just what you feel are the most important things people should know about previous research in this area. Be sure to cite to the studies you reference using APA-6 in-text reference guidelines (e.g., Smith & Collins, 2007) XXX Purpose and Research Questions Why did you select this intervention? What were the needs in your practicum setting that drove this selection? What is you specific research question(s)? XXX Methods Participants: Who did you give the intervention to? Who was involved in implementation or data collection? Setting: Inclusive classroom, resource room, during lunch, circle, dramatic play, etc. Design: AB, ABA, ABC, multiple-baseline, etc. IV: Intervention such as token economy DV: Behavior targeted Procedures: How did you implement the intervention? What steps did you take? What materials did you use? Data Collection: (such as time sampling or frequency counts, etc.) XXX Results This is where your graph will go.. You can edit this one by right-clicking the graph and selecting chart object, and then edit. Alternatively, you can delete this one and copy and paste yours here by either a)copying it from Word and pasting it SPECIAL here as a picture enhanced metafile, then adjust the size, or OR b) copy your graph you created in the other PPT template and paste it here. The Effectiveness of X on Y. Baseline Name of Intervention If editing the graph inserted here: Student tasks: Please edit graph and add your individual data Task # 1: Think about your PAR and identify your primary IV and DV Task # 2: Create a meaningful system for data collection Design a data collection sheet Plan to use an appropriate unit of DV behavior (e.g., frequency, percentage, minutes) Task # 3: Enter your hypothetical data into the excel sheet embedded into the ppt slide To edit data: double left click the chart area (Excel data sheet will appear) Modify the existing data in the data sheet Add dates for sessions Add specific behavior labels for the generic “ behavior” Choose “view” and “data sheet”—now you can change the data and add more data series if needed Task # 4: Modify the ppt slide above and the graphical display of your data Change all titles and make them specific to your project (chart options) X axis for the sessions or days Y axis for the unit of the behavior Title of the project : “The effectiveness of your x intervention on the y outcomes” Label the legends (behavior 1 & 2) from chart options Move the phase line (vertical line between baseline and intervention conditions) by clicking and selecting it and the dragging it to a new location Make sure the points in between the 2 different lines representing the experimental phases (b&i) are disconnected Left double click on the data line and right click on the data point to get the option “format data series”. The line should be automatic, except between the 2 points mentioned previously in between phases. You will need to highlight the 2 points and then choose “none” for the line options for those 2 points. Task # 5:Enter your real data from the classroom project, edit accordingly (e.g., phases separated, titles, sessions) References: Reference 1 Reference 2 Reference 3 Reference 4 Reference 5 Discussion/Conclusion What can you conclude about how the intervention helped your target participant(s)? What does this say about the intervention overall? What are the implications for the future, the intervention, or the field? XXXX
