Creating buttons in Fireworks

Setting up the canvas Open Fireworks and choose a canvas size big enough to fit the buttons on you are going to create:

Button Editor DO NOT draw your button on the canvas Use the Button Editor Access this by selecting Edit, Insert, New Button

Button states Create an Up state for your button Create an Over state for your button Create a Down state for your button Use Copy Over Graphic to assist you

Button Done Once you are happy with your button click the Done button Your button will look something like this Trim canvas to tidy things up Access this by selecting Modify, Canvas, Trim Canvas

Saving your button You need to save your button both as a Fireworks file and as an HTML file Select File, Save as for the Fireworks file Select File, Export for saving as a HTML and Image Save both versions in the same folder
