O Be Careful What You Do

Pay careful attention, then, to how you live—not as unwise people but as wise—making the most of the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15–16 CSB

Qavah means “to bind together” and “hope, expect, and look eagerly”.

Waiting on the Lord means having “confident expectation”.

I wait for the Lord; I wait and put my hope in his word I wait for the Lord; I wait and put my hope in his word. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning— more than watchmen for the morning. Psalm 130:5–6 CSB

Waiting on the Lord involves knowledge and trust.

I wait for the Lord; I wait and put my hope in his word I wait for the Lord; I wait and put my hope in his word. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning— more than watchmen for the morning. Israel, put your hope in the Lord. For there is faithful love with the Lord, and with him is redemption in abundance. And he will redeem Israel from all its iniquities. Psalm 130:5–8 CSB

Waiting on the Lord comes with great benefits.

Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:30–31 NASB95

Those who wait on the Lord will gain new strength.

Those who wait on the Lord rise above the problems of life.

Those who wait on the Lord become well-conditioned.

Waiting on the Lord involves seeking the Lord.

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the person who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25 CSB

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be courageous Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14 CSB
