Why Lodge Hill? What Lodge Hill has to offer Payment Important information Questions

Why Lodge Hill? Parklands School Leadership Team has decided we will be attending Lodge Hill Centre near Pulborough, West Sussex as our future residential trip. We have various reasons for changing the of our Year Six trip location, we believe Lodge Hill will provide Year Six with a vast array of activities, experiences and learning which is suitable for all members of the year group. Members of staff have carried out research into finding the most suitable location for all children, when visiting Lodge Hill we felt this was the perfect place. After recommendations from other schools and West Sussex, Lodge Hill will provide the children with an experience they won’t forget! One of the main contributing factors when selecting a residential was the cost and the outcomes we hope for the children. Residential trips play a significant role in Year Six, allowing children to thrive in an outdoor environment, try new things and build relationships with staff and pupils. Staff have worked hard to try to keep the cost of the visit to a reasonable level.

What Lodge Hill has to offer Accommodation- Lodge Hill is set in over 32 acres of land, which offer a array of activities and experiences for all children. Within these grounds are a range of accommodation, one of which is the main house building. Here ,there are 28 rooms which offer 2,4 and 6 children to a room. This caters for children who will be better in smaller dorms, as well as those who would like to share with a larger group. The main house also has separate bathrooms with shower facilities and each room has a sink. The main selling point of the accommodation are the spectacular views of the South Downs. One of the bonuses of visiting Lodge Hill in November is that we are likely to have the site to ourselves! As well as this, it keeps the lost low as it is during the ‘Low Tariff Season’

The Activities Lodge Hill offers a wide range of activities, most of which are all outdoors. Within the secure land, there is: Climbing Abseiling Zipline High ropes and Low ropes Wobble Board and much more…

Timings -Example of a typical timetable -Children will be in groups -They will all have the opportunity to do the activities available -Children will have set food times, we will eat together in the main house

Payment Before we send out the payment schedule, we need to find out how many children will be coming. If we do not receive enough responses, the governors have stated that we will be unable to proceed with the residential booking We have worked incredibly hard to keep the cost as low as possible but it will be approximately £200. A payment plan will be arranged shortly and sent out to parents to allow for the full amount to be paid by affordable instalments Travel - In order to keep the cost to a minimum, we are asking parents and carers to drop their child at the centre on Tuesday by 9.30am and collect from the Centre, on Friday 22nd November at 3.00pm

Important Information For more detail about the site, please visit the website which shows you what the Centre has to offer: http://www.lodgehill.org.uk/

Questions Please feel free to ask any questions, we are also more than happy to answer questions at a later date, please contact Miss Barnes or Mrs Sole. A letter will be sent out tomorrow with the confirmation slip to finalise numbers. Thank you for all your support
