Pollution in our country In Hungary air, water and lately the soil pollution are big problems. Air pollution is typical mainly in big cities because of many cars. Water pollution: some years ago our river Tisza was polluted by a company. This pollution happened in an other country, but it caused very big problems here in our country. A lot of fish and other animals died. The river is recovering now.

Soil pollution: in October there was a terrible catastrophe in our country. We have a factory which produces aluminium. Producing aluminium has a secondary product so called ‘red dross’, which is stored in big pools. The dam of one of them got damaged and the red dross from it overflowed three villages. A lot of houses were polluted and destroyed, some people died, and the soil was polluted, too.

What can we do about this problem and how do we deal with Families must use bicycles instead of cars in smaller cities, and in big cities they should use public transport. Sometimes it happens but unfortunately a lot of people don’t understand the problem. We hope it will change and we will be able to live in a healthy world in the future. So we sometimes plant trees and take care of our environment.
