Week 31 Science and Social Studies April 1 - 5

Monday’s Lesson Learning Goal: Students will be able to recognize and describe components on the Earth’s surface and justify how and why it changes over time. Standard:SC.1.E.6.3: (DOK 3) Recognize that some things in the world around us happen fast and some happen slowly What evidence can be used to show the Earth has changed over time? Describe the materials that make up the Earth and how they change over time? Why and where are fast and slow changes evident on Earth? Explain

Watch Earthquakes for kids Turn and Talk: What did the video say was a slow change? What are ways that an earthquake can change the earth quickly?

Tuesday’s Lesson Learning Goal: Students will be able to recognize and describe components on the Earth’s surface and justify how and why it changes over time. Standard:Standard:SC.1.E.6.3: (DOK 3) Recognize that some things in the world around us happen fast and some happen slowly

Watch the video on volcanoes. Turn and Talk: What are slow changes that occur with volcanoes? What are fast changes that occur with volcanoes? How do volcanoes change the earth’s surface?

Thursday’s Lesson Learning Goal: Students will understand that geography is the study of the Earth’s landforms and bodies of water. Standard: SS.1.G.1.6 Describe how location, weather, and physical environment affect the way people live in our community.

(Ex. clothes choices, locations we go etc.) Create a tree map of the different types of weather we experience. How does it affect our lives? (Ex. clothes choices, locations we go etc.)

Friday’s Lesson Learning Goal: Students will understand that geography is the study of the Earth’s landforms and bodies of water. Standard: SS.1.E.1.1 Recognize that money is a method of exchanging goods and services.
