Komodo Dragons and Their Remarkable Babies The female komodo dragon lays up to 30 eggs. They hatch after 8 months. The eggs are 3 inches long and 7.6 cm wide The shells are tough and leathery. Baby komodo dragons live in trees for the first 2 years to avoid predators.
