Does Mr. Maher have the experience to sweep a tomb? (20711, Fanny)   We have a similar holiday called Memorial Day, at the end of May. It’s actually only for decorating the graves of military veterans, but since my father qualifies, my relatives go out to his grave every year. I visit it every time I go back to Iowa.

How did the dragon boat racing get started in the US How did the dragon boat racing get started in the US? What is the origin? (10220, Ryan)   I think that it started in California, probably in the 1980’s. International dragon boat racing started in Hong Kong in 1979, and California has a lot of immigrants from all over Asia.

Vocabulary:  Translate and define a limited number of words (about 5-8) or phrases from the assigned reading. Concrete understanding :  Answer 3- or 4 questions from the reading, where the answer is clearly stated in the reading. Inference understanding: Answer 2 or 3 questions about the reading where the answer is implied, but not directly stated.

Interesting details: write some sentences that interest you. Reflections:  What do you think about the reading? What did you learn from the reading? What question would you like to ask Mr. Maher?

Keep in mind that you are ALWAYS required to answer questions in complete sentences, rather that in short phrases.
