Job Performance Requirement 15-3 Clove Hitch Tied in the Open

A Hold the rope in your hands with the working end to your right. Form a loop with the working end passing in front of the standing part (between you and the rope). JPR 15-3A

B Move the rope down to the right and form another loop exactly like the previous loop. JPR 15-3B

C Place the loop formed in step 3 behind the loop formed in step 2 C Place the loop formed in step 3 behind the loop formed in step 2. You now have a clove hitch. JPR 15-3C

D Keep the clove hitch loops in the proper orientation to one another and slide them over the object to be secured. JPR 15-3D

E Finish with a safety knot. JPR 15-3E
