B Objectives 1. Summary of the main learning outcomes for students enrolled in the course. The student acquires a general background on the concept of arabization and its development, the arab culture and its role in spreading science in the west. The course introduces the arabization strategies in the arab world and the methodologies of spreading the Arabic language through the use of scientific terminologies and modern technologies. 2. Briefly describe any plans for developing and improving the course that are being implemented. (eg. increased use of IT or web based reference material, changes in content as a result of new research in - Using modern educational technologies in the teaching and learning processes. - changing the content of the source to include the latest research results in the field. - Increasing the student's knowledge of arabization.

Course Description This course aims at introducing the concept of arabization and its development and it discusses the cultural, linguistic, political, religious, scientific, financial, educational and social implications of arabization. It also handles the issue of terminologies and the basic principles of forming and coordinating them in the Arab world. The student is made aware of the most prominent terminology banks in the Arab world, in addition to the arabization establishments and their most known achievements and difficulties. The course also introduces the arabization attempts in the Arab countries and discusses the arabization strategies ,the issue of arabizing education in the fields of science, medicine and technologies in the Arab universities. It also discusses the relationship between arabization and terminologies and the role of the media in spreading the arabized terms.
