Biography Sarah E. Goode was born in Toledo,OH in 1855. She was born into slavery in 1850. She was the first African women to obtain a patent. She invented folding and dough-kneading machine.She died April 8,1905.

Invention Sarah E. Goode is most known for inventing the murphy bed.So if people have a small apartment you can just fold the bed up when not in use and just fold the bed down when you want to use it. And it helps save space. And she got the idea from her father and her husband.
