In Nature Everything is Connected In 1995 scientists wanted to control the amount of Gypsy Moths because they kill oak trees

In Nature Everything is Connected In 1995 scientists wanted to control the amount of Gypsy Moths because they kill oak trees The scientists removed all the mice from selected plots of land and found that the moths populations increased The scientists then added acorns to the plot. What effect did the acorns have? More mice.

In Nature Everything is Connected The mice then ate the acorns and the gypsy moths as well What was the conclusion? Large acorn crops decrease gypsy moth populations. Acorns also attract deer. What are the effects of deer in this ecosystem. Deer bring ticks to mice, and then to animals (dogs and cats), and then people.

Ecosystem Investigation View the picture your group was assigned Using your text book define all organisms within that ecosystem Make sure all components of an ecosystem are represented (pg 94) Pick the main animal in the picture and fill out the sample web using your list of organisms

Ecosystem Investigation Using poster paper recreate your web for presentation to the class
