Subtracting Expressions Simplify
LCM- Least Common Multiple You need to be able to find the LCM of the denominators. Then you need to multiply the appropriate factors to get the same LCM for each denominator. Remember to multiply both the numerator AND the denominator by the same number!
Example 1 Find the LCM for each pair of rational expressions, 18x^2y^2
Example 2 Find the LCM for each pair of rational expressions, (x-3)(x+3)^2
Example 3 Find the difference of 8y-1/12y^3
Example 4 Find the sum of 4ap+2am/mnp
Example 5 Find the difference of -4r +20/r^2-16
