OVERTRAINING Periodized Training Overtraining A deliberate strategy of exposing athletes to high- level and intensity training loads that are followed by a lower training load known as rest/ taper stage ((McCann, 1995) Overtraining A short cycle of training during which athletes expose themselves to excessive training loads that are near or at maximum capacity
