WordPress Unit Web Coordinators Monthly Summit – May 2019

Agenda Looking Back Siteimprove Training & Enterprise+ Q4 status updates Q&A

Looking Back We started the monthly UWC summit a little over a year ago! Since then we have built a solid web content platform for NAU that encompasses people, processes, and technology: Developed and delivered comprehensive training for hundreds of site editors Established initial communities with Unit Web Coordinators and WordPress users Engaged users across the institution as part of the Ektron migration work Crafted and implemented processes around content standards, information architecture, accessible documents, training, support, and numerous other aspects of a web ecosystem Enhanced the performance of the nau.edu platform even as load has scaled Built and implemented the in.nau.edu platform with new technologies and support models Continually improved on the theme and integrations to deliver new features and increase stability

Siteimprove Updates First month of workshops was immensely successful Over 50 users now actively using the system Valley workshop scheduled Wednesday, May 8th 15451 N 28th Ave, Room 131 Phoenix, AZ 85053 Registration is available at https://nau.edu/web/siteimprove-workshop-registration/ Summer workshop schedule still to be determined We now provide Siteimprove support at our regular Open Labs

Training & Enterprise+ Documentation and training roadmap for Enterprise+ plugins has been finalized Main WordPress training is being updated and repackaged to also include training for authors and contributors Please ensure all site stewards and editors are trained to current standards The training schedule at https://nau.edu/web/training/ is the source for upcoming workshops and new training opportunities. The days and times for each session vary from week to week Online self-guided trainings available: https://nau.edu/its/learn/wordpress-editor For those in colleges, please ensure that your Site Stewards and Owners relay any changes or service requests through the assigned University Marketing PM

Q4 Status Updates We are in the final stages of remediation prior to the Ektron platform being decommissioned Academic workflow rollout with University Marketing is in user testing Site level moves for internal/external content split have had some discussion and work is expected to ramp up Development of In.nau.edu interface is undergoing revisions based on executive feedback Rollout of new WordPress platforms has been on hold but testing is picking back up Revamp of “Web” policy has had one initial working meeting and the beginnings of an updated draft

Q4 Status Updates Directory enhancements and further integration with Faculty 180 This is a multi-quarter project for FY19Q4 and FY20Q1 Directory.nau.edu needs redesign of the front end to improve user experience and information presentation Rework of the back end to address long standing needs and incorporate new data fields Improve on integrations into WordPress to deliver new data and functionality Update platform and code base to a supportable state and transition support to development group

Thank you for the continued support and involvement to deliver a high- quality OneNAU website! Questions?
