Warm-up #8 How were the Muslims able to conquer both the Persian and Byzantine empires? Read the section about Baghdad on page 84. Why was the city important? Name three things that stand out to you about the city.

Muslims Empires Read pages 88-93 of your Blue Holt textbook. In groups of three: Assign each person an empire to read about (Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal). Read about your empire and record key facts in the chart on your worksheet. Trade answers with your group members. Complete the rest of your worksheet individually or as a group.
