Interval Notation Parenthesis Brackets Infinity Interval Notation includes the use of three special symbols. Parenthesis Brackets Infinity Indicates the interval continues forever in a negative or positive direction. Indicates the interval’s endpoints are not included. Indicates the interval’s endpoints are included. That’s like an open circle. That’s like a closed circle. That’s like an arrow.

Compound Inequalities A Compound Inequality consists of two distinct inequalities joined by the word and or the word or. That was easy The graph of a compound inequality with the word and contains the overlap of the two inequalities that form the compound inequality. The graph of a compound inequality with the word or contains each graph of the two inequalities that form the compound inequality. 3 So…and means between and or means split. 5 9 11 3 9 5 11

Writing Compound Inequalities Write a compound inequality for each situation & graph the solution. All real numbers that are greater than or equal to 7 and less than or equal to 19 All real numbers that are greater than or equal to -13 and less than -8 All real numbers that are greater than -2 and less than 6 -2 6 7 19 -13 -8 I’d like to push the easy button now.

More Writing Compound Inequalities Write a compound inequality for each situation & graph the solution. All real numbers that are less than 3 or greater than 14 All real numbers that are less than 6 or greater than or equal to 17 All real numbers that are less than 0 or greater than 4 3 14 6 17 0 4 Quiero empujar el boton de facil.

Even More Writing Compound Inequalities Write a compound inequality for each situation & graph the solution. During the month of August the low temperature was 83 degrees and the high temperature was 94 degrees. The circumference of a large pizza must be between 41.5 inches and 44 inches inclusive. 83 94 41.5 44 That was easy Asi de facil

Writing Compound Inequalities from a Graph Write the compound inequality represented by each graph. 13 24 0 18 3 16 2 8 -12 -7 -15 -10 -1 6 That was easy Remember…and means between and or means split.
