The Eel by Ogden Nash I don’t mind eels Except as meals. And the way they feels. What is the structure of the poem? What is the rhyming pattern of the lines in the poem? How many syllables are in each line of the poem? What is the meter pattern—the pattern of stressed syllables in the poem?

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ABOUT “THE EEL” The structure of the poem is triplet. Every line rhymes with the other lines. Line 1 has 4 syllables, line 2 has 4 syllables, and line 3 has 5 syllables.
