Elizabethan food There food and drinks varied according to their wealth. In early mid evil time meat was a sign of wealth. They expanded the use of sugar. Their food was generally purchased from small markets and fairs..
Food continued.. Their food was generally purchased from small markets and fairs. Common drinks were wine and ale. The water was not clean so no body drank it. Honey was used to make a sweet alcoholic drink called Mead which was drank by all classes. Ales were brewed with malt and water, while beer contained hops and had a bitter taste.

REligion Queen Mary Died Elizabeth took over There was a problem because the old queen was Catholic and the new queen was Protestant. The new queen was not an extremist and allowed both sides to practice Catholicism and the protestant faith.
Religion cont.. Two churches were presented to solve this problem Elizabethan Catholic Churches and Elizabethan Protestant Churches. The Protestant churches translated Bible from Latin To English; Catholic churches disagreed. Followers didn’t know what Religion to follow. Failure to follow the favored religion could lead to great trouble. Schools taught both religions because the queen never publicly announced what religion she was.

Gender Roles Men were superior over women Education was given to people of nobility Men worked and reigned superior, and women stayed home and kept up on the house. Women had a Dowry when getting married. Dowry-Anything a women owned was now apart of the marriage.
