Health Care Reform How do we address problems associated both with the coverage and cost of health care in the US? Group A: Dominant? Group B: Subordinate? Health care/insurance industry, Republican leaders: maintain a private system: No Public options (no Canadian system) People with employer-provided coverage People with limited coverage Protect personal choice and keep costs down (for those that have coverage). People with no coverage (ER-only) Which perspective wins in the public mind and in the policy debate?

Health Care Reform Group B: Subordinate? Group A: Dominant? Health care/insurance industry, Republican leaders: maintain a private system: Market choice. No Public options (no Canadian system). People with employer-provided coverage. Maintain existing market-based HC system. or The possibility of having choice in the market is better than government choice/options. Universal coverage or regulated market. Which perspective wins in the public mind and in the policy debate?
