Cytospins preparations were stained for hemopexin using rabbit antihemopexin IgG and peroxidase-conjugated goat antirabbit as a second step. Reaction product throughout the cytoplasm is seen in most stimulated cells (B, arrowhead); negative cells are also present (arrow). Nonstimulated cells stain predominantly negative (A), whereas stimulated cells after prednisolone treatment show also reduced stainability, although some membrane staining can be observed in these cells (C, arrow).
