B. Dissemination (1) 1. Indicators (1) OMC and EU2020 indicators Time schedule Publishing on Eurostat website usually twice a month but can be more often (September, October) Tasks before publishing Validation of source data (revisions iterations) Calculation of indicators Sending main indicators to the MSs Approval of publishing by MSs 11 – 13 June 2013

B. Dissemination (2) 1. Indicators (2) Indicators with NUTS breakdown Analysis of current situation Five indicators with NUTS breakdown Different NUTS levels Calculations based on DB040 vs. separate files vs. regional weights Future plans Consultation of NSI 11 – 13 June 2013

B. Dissemination (3) 2. Module Data 2017 module data on health and children health Data analysis ongoing Time schedule November 2018 – consultation with MSs on the frequencies and breakdowns December 2018 – upload module data to Eurostat website March 2019 – Dissemination of the module assessment document 2017 module test data Tentative time schedule First semester 2019 – analysis and decisions on SILC future variables 11 – 13 June 2013

B. Dissemination (3) Data analysis 2017 module data on health and children health We are using Multiple Correspondence Analysis to: Detect patterns in response behaviour and anomalies Detect correlations to better chose breakdowns Some examples in the following slides 11 – 13 June 2013

“PROC CORRESP” output 0 - 18.4 ="Underweight” 18.4 < - 24.9 ="Normal weight " 24.9 < - 29.9 ="Pre-obesity “ 29.9 < - 34.9 ="Obesity class I" 34.9 < - 39.9 ="Obesity class II " 39.9 < - HIGH="Obesity class III" " 1="GT2_VEGETABLE_day“ 2 = "1_VEGETABLE_day“ 3 = "4-6_VEGETABLE_week" 4 = “1-3_VEGETABLE_week" 5 = "LT1_VEGETABLE_week" 6 = "NO_VEGETABLE" 1="GT2_FRUIT_day“ 2 = "1_FRUIT_day“ 3 = "4-6_FRUIT_week" 4 = “1-3_FRUIT_week" 5 = "LT1_FRUIT_week" 6 = "NO_FRUIT"

« BMI ( Body mass index) by sex and frequency of eating fruit » 1="GT2_FRUIT_day“ 2 = "1_FRUIT_day“ 3 = "4-6_FRUIT_week" 4 = “1-3_FRUIT_week" 5 = "LT1_FRUIT_week" 6 = "NO_FRUIT"

B. Dissemination (4) 3. UDB's 2017 data Starting from 2017-09 release we are disseminating complete UDBs: last revisions of all years starting from 2004 data of the new wave The data of the new wave is published in 2 steps: Autumn release  Cross-sectional data of the previous survey year Spring release  Longitudinal data of the previous minus one survey year 11 – 13 June 2013

B. Dissemination (5) 3. UDB's 2017 data (cont.) Latest UDB release Achieved preparation time schedule Release 2018-09  2017 cross-sectional data End August 2017 – closing collection of disc. control rules, starting implementation of the rules Beg. October 2017 – starting testing new rules creation of UDB with prev. year corr./rev. End October 2017 - Data collection closed Finishing UDB preparation & delivering it

B. Dissemination (6) 4. UDB's Last release (2018-09) Data Content Previous years (2008-2016) revisions / corrections Cross-sectional: 66 Longitudinal: 34 2017 cross-sectional data 26 countries: Countries: AT, BE, BG, CY, CZ, DE, DK, EE, ES, FI, FR, EL, HR, HU, IT, LT, LU, LV, MT, NL, PL, PT, RO, SE, SI, SK

B. Dissemination (7) 5. UDB's 2017 longitudinal data Next UDB release preparation Proposal to include deprivation variables 2014-5 in L-file Proposed time schedule Release 2019-03  2017 longitudinal data (as new part) Jan 2019 – closing collection of relevant disc. control rules End Febr. 2019 – closing data coll., starting anonymisation 2nd half March 2019 – UDB release with corrections and revisions and new 2017 longitudinal data Note: It would be highly beneficial if countries could envisage to send longitudinal data by the end of February or before so we could include the maximum number of countries in the UDB. 11 – 13 June 2013

YOUR CONTACTS at EUROSTAT Emilio DI MEGLIO - Head of production team - general EU-SILC production Coordination Barbara MOENCH - EU-SILC production and redesign project leader Karoly FELKL - DE, DK, EL, HU, LV, MK, MT, NO, SE, SK, TR + UDB preparation Anna RYBKOWSKA - BE, CY, FR, IS, LT, LU, ME, NL, PL, RO, SI Estefania ALAMINOS - BG, CH, CZ, EE, ES, FI, HR, IE, IT, PT, RS, UK 11 - 13 June 2013

CONCLUSION (1) Regular transmission Data format Countries sent data in regular format Timeliness Significant further improvement for 2017 data: 19 countries sent data by June The ultimate goal is still (before entry into force of IESS) a transmission of fully cleaned microdata files to Eurostat by the end of June (possibly without validated longitudinal weights) fully cleaned files with long. weights by the end of September Number of transmissions Stable with average of 1.8 11 - 13 June 2013

CONCLUSION (2) Dissemination Indicators Regional indicators (we will consult countries in the next days) Module data timeliness UDB timeliness and improved accessibility March 2019: 2017 complete cross-sectional data & Longitudinal data of max. available countries Complete data collection is accessible on S-CIRCABC access from April 2018 11 - 13 June 2013
