Communication Waves Presentation- How We Communicate Requirements: Must be 4 Slides PLUS Title Slide Answer all questions completely- Use complete sentences “SHARE” with your teacher to submit Resources to use: Notes Textbook Communication Waves- Wizer.me (links on the site) Presentation- How We Communicate

Slide 1- Radio Waves What type of equipment is needed for a radio station to send and broadcast radio waves? Explain the difference between AM and FM radio waves. Contrast the benefits of sending information with AM and FM radio waves.

Slide 2- Cellular Phones What type of waves do cell phones use to send information to other cell phones. Explain the process of sending a text to another cell phone once you press “send”. How is the data transmission on a satellite phone different than data transmission of a cell phone?

Slide 3- Global Positioning System(GPS) and Satellites Explain how GPS locates and tracks here on Earth. (be use to include the wave type, number of satellites, and purpose the satellites) Why do space probes not use infrared waves to send data back to NASA on Earth? How can satellite collect the various types of data and are they using different types of communication waves?

Slide 4- Compare and Contrast Compare and contrast the communication abilities of microwaves to infrared waves. Compare and contrast the communication abilities of radio waves to microwaves. Explain a situation when radio waves would be more appropriate to use for communication instead of microwaves. Why does the TV remote only work when pointed directly at the TV microprocessor?
