How do we recognize the presence of God in our lives? John 16:4-15

I. The Coming of the Holy Spirit. (vs. 7) As New Testament Believers, we experience the presence of God through the Holy Spirit. The advantage of the Holy Spirit is God’s omnipresence. God’s presence is available to all believers, in all places, and at all times. The Holy Spirit connects us to the heart of God and to each other.

II. The Conviction of the Holy Spirit. (vs. 8-11) Convict - the revelation of a convincing truth. To be convinced. vs. 9 Sin. Singular not plural. Man kind’s Sin Nature. This leads many people to commit the only unforgivable sin: Unbelief of rejection of Gods’ saving grace.

II. The Conviction of the Holy Spirit. (vs. 8-11) Convict - the revelation of a convincing truth. To be convinced. vs. 10 - Righteousness. The state of being right with God. The only way can b e right before God is having been redeemed by the blood of Christ. Jesus is at the right hand of God advocating for us!

II. The Conviction of the Holy Spirit. (vs. 8-11) Convict - the revelation of a convincing truth. To be convinced. vs. 11 - Judgement. The final declaration. The verdict is in and sin and satan have been sentenced. They’re on “death row.” The ultimate fate is destruction and annihilation in the lake of fire. Satan, his angels, and those who reject God will suffer eternal torment as payment for their sin.

III. The Communication of the Holy Spirit. (vs. 8-11) The Holy Spirit communicates God’s truth for a Spirit filled life. All power and knowledge is available to us! He guides and directs us in the journey of life. He discerns truth from lies. He gives us insider information. He declares God’s will for us to submit our lives too.
