Components of a Nutritious Diet How can we eat a balanced diet? Balance For each meal eat foods from each of the five food groups. Moderation To eat in moderation: Eat salts, sugars, and fats sparingly. Variety Should I eat the same foods every day? NO! Eat different foods within each of the food groups to get all needed nutrients.
