Sunlight Air Water Soil We know that …. www.ks1resources.co.uk

SAMPLE SLIDE Some plants need many hours of sunlight, others prefer the shade. All plants need sunlight to survive. Indoor plants need sunlight or an artificial light source. Without light, plants become weak and unhealthy. SAMPLE SLIDE Random Slides From This PowerPoint Show www.ks1resources.co.uk

SAMPLE SLIDE Not everything in the air is good for plants. Pollution in the air from factories, fires and cars can block the sunlight so that plants struggle to survive. The harmful chemicals found in pollution can be bad for plant growth too. SAMPLE SLIDE Random Slides From This PowerPoint Show www.ks1resources.co.uk

When there’s too much sun and not enough rain the soil around the plant dries out too much. In times of serious drought, most plants wilt and die because they can’t get enough water. SAMPLE SLIDE Random Slides From This PowerPoint Show www.ks1resources.co.uk

Some types of plants grow in the shallow water along the edges of ponds and streams. These plants have strong roots to anchor them firmly in the mud. Some types of plants grow partly or completely covered by water and others float on the water’s surface. They are adapted to the conditions they live in.
