Academic Habits/7th Grade/Ms. Buffington Wednesday, August 2, 2017 Warm-up: Come in sit down quietly and begin your timeline of books you have read since you were little until now. Opening /Activator: Minion Rule Reminder Minion Explain the Rules Work Session: -We will discuss any rules that are unclear. -Read “It Twas the Night Before School Started” -Write the 3rd stanza to the poem about your 1st Day of School Closing: Finish Human Scavenger Hunt What I will learn: To add a stanza to a poem. How I will learn it: Through teacher modeling and class discussion. How I will show you that I learned it: I will write a real or imagined 3rd stanza for the poem “Twas the Night Before School Started,” with descriptive details. Good Readers...have a purpose for reading…think about what they already know……make sure they understand what they read…look at pictures...predict…form pictures in their minds…draw conclusions…figure out new words…PRACTICE!
