Helping People to Belong Be A Tree

Romans 12:5 So it is with Christ's body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. (NLT) Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (NIV)

The one thing that we hold in common with everyone else is the simple fact that each and every one of us is unique. Every church is unique and our church is no different. There is no church anywhere in the world like Kingdom Life. No Church is Like Kingdom Life.

Inspiring Love, Life and Relationships Our Mission Inspiring Love, Life and Relationships

No Church is Like Kingdom Life Activating the Mission A Place to host the Presence of God. A Place we bring our unchurched friends and family members. A Place that Loves people and receives them unconditionally. A Place where Lives are Transformed and Life is experienced. A Place where Relationships are built (Life Groups) and a place you can belong.

Matthew 28:19-20  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.“ Amen. (NKJV)

We do not want to just “do” church, we want to BE the church, right We do not want to just “do” church, we want to BE the church, right? And to truly be God's church as effectively as possible here at Kingdom Life, we need to understand and embrace what it means for our church to live God’s mission right here in our city.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit

It is our desire to stay right in step with how the Spirit is leading us as a people. The danger is if we do not take the time to seek God, to hear from God, to understand what God is doing here and now, then we run the risk of falling behind or heading off course or simply going through the motions. Walking in the Spirit

Luke 19:1–10 Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

Luke 19:1–10 5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house." 6 So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. 7 But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner."

Luke 19:1–10 8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold." 9 And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." NKJV

Now, we probably do not give much thought to the sycamore tree in this story. How can we help people see Jesus? That sycamore tree gave Zacchaeus the chance to see Jesus.

How can you be a sycamore tree this week? Next week, our church will be participating in national Back to Church Sunday. We have been praying about this event as an opportunity to meet people right where they are and incite them to encounter Jesus.

This special Sunday gives you chance to be a sycamore tree This special Sunday gives you chance to be a sycamore tree. It is your opportunity to help a friend, coworker, classmate, relative, or neighbor see Jesus. So begin praying now: Lord, open my eyes and help me see who needs me to be a sycamore tree in their life right now.

Be INTENTIONAL in inviting a person to church next Sunday, so that they can experience the beauty of community and find a place where they can belong, a place where they are accepted as they are and invited to encounter the life-transforming power of Jesus. Apply & Mobilize
