What will the children be doing? The programme is designed to compliment the geography/history curriculum first hand as part of their topic on London. The programme also encourages team work, develops thinking skills and promotes independence. But most of all, it will provide a memorable lasting experience before they move on to pastures new!

Mobile Phones/Electronic devices NO electronic devices/Mobile Phones will be allowed on the visit including Ipads/tablets or any type of cameras. We will capture each part of the residential and share it with you during and following the visit.

On the morning of the residential… Children should arrive at the school through the main entrance with their belongings from 8:30 am ready for registration. The children will leave their belongings in the hall and proceed to the classroom. Parents are welcome to wait in the hall, ready to wave them off! We will leave school at 9.00 am. If your child requires medication or has a medical condition you need to make us aware of this. All medicines should be labelled with the child’s name and dosage. All medicines should be given to Mrs Jackson/Mrs Quayle on the morning of departure. Children who are travelsick and need tablets should be given them prior to departure and a dosage given to Mrs Jackson/Mrs Quayle for the return journey.

Food! A packed lunch will be required for Day 1. It should be put into a plastic carrier bag with food and drinks that are in packaging/containers that can be thrown away please – do not send lunch boxes. Please keep the lunch separate from the rest of the child's belongings. Health and Safety No snacks should be taken in luggage as this increases the likelihood that children may consider a ‘midnight feast’ and would share foods without allergy awareness. Please remember we are Nut Free School.

Sleeping Arrangements We are staying at The premier Inn, Heathrow Terminal 4 This is not Lledr Hall…Bedding is provided! So no need for sleeping bags etc. If your child has a sensitive issue relating to bedtime please let us know. The matter will be dealt with discretely. No child need be worried on the basis of this. Children will be in groups of 2/3 per room. Children have provided preferences, this will be confirmed at check in. If there are any issues about this, we will deal with them at this point. The rooms will be vetted at check in to ensure they are child friendly and safe. Children will be briefed regarding safety procedures during the stay.

What to pack… Your child will need a rucksack with their belongings for overnight. The main things will include sleepwear and toiletries and fresh underwear! If the weather is fine, your child may also need sun cream protection. Children should arrive at school dressed ready for the visit – School Uniform on the top half (For easy identification!) – Polo Shirt and Leavers hoody/School Sweatshirt. Children can wear leggings/track suit bottoms etc. with trainers for comfort and may also need a warm coat. Who knows! Children will also be given a yellow cap for when they are out and about in the Capital – again for identification purposes. Children can bring up to £5.00 spends to purchase a drink/Ice Cream whilst at the Theatre. There are no other real opportunities to spend. Please put the money in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and hand into school on the morning of the visit. All belongings need to be in one bag/holdall with all items named.

We aim to return to school around 6 We aim to return to school around 6.00pm on Tuesday 21st May 2019 We will contact you via ParentMail once we have departed London with a more accurate ETA and again if there are any significant delays Any Questions?
