SPPS School Leadership Eligibility Pool Process - Principal STEP 1: On-line Application STEP 2: Eligibility Interview Please attach the following in ONE Document: Resume Letter of Intent Two (2) Leadership Experience Essays (500 word max.) Thirty (30) minute group article discussion Thirty (30) minute in-basket activity Forty-five (45) minute structured interview with panel *Current SPPS principals interested in 2019-20 principal vacancies will not need to apply to the principal eligibility pool.

Thirty (30) minute in-basket activity Forty-five (45) minute structured interview with panel *Current SPPS asst. principals interested in 2019-20 AP Vacancies will not need to apply to the AP eligibility pool.

Application Requirements: Applications will consistent of the following (in ONE document): Resume Please include work history to include dates, titles, organization and key responsibilities. Letter of Intent Please include why you aspire to be a leader ( Principal/Assistant Principal) in SPPS and how your education and experience has prepared for this role. Leadership Experience Essay(s) (500 word max. per essay) See 2 next slides for details

Application Requirements (continued): Essay 1 (Principal and Assistant Principal Candidates): Describe a time when you developed and implemented an initiative that resulted in student achievement gains. (The example could range in scope from an initiative that you implemented in your classroom to a school-wide program.) In your response, address the following: Student performance when you started the initiative Specific, measurable student performance results/outcomes related to this initiative Specific instructional strategies you used (or helped your teachers use), including: Your rationale for selecting those strategies How you met the needs of your students Any adjustments you made along the way to help your students achieve the goals. Lessons you learned throughout the initiative

Application Requirements (continued): Essay 2 (Principal Candidates Only:) Describe your experience in the last 3 years demonstrating how your actions positively impacted school culture and climate. In your response, please use the STAR format (Situation/Task, Action, and Results).
