Why did I become a teacher? When I was a kid In 5th grade, I couldn’t read well. I read at the second grade level. For years I keep up with C’s and B’s, but I didn’t play like the other kids after school. I studied. In 5th grade, I decided I wanted to have fun. My grades went to D’s and f’s within weeks. My family was disappointed. I was disappointed. I was better than that. I could have gave up. School was hard. I was failing. But, I was made for more. I wanted and still want all the things good choices bring. So I chose work.

Who do you Want to be? School is to prepare you for life. What job do you want? Where do you want to live? A house or a apartment or on the streets. What do you want to have? A family? A car? Food? Who are you? Who do you want to become? What behaviors will get you there? What education do you need? How are you going to make it happen?
