courage BY MATTHEW SPEED

Courage in the bible We see examples of courage throughout the Bible, from David defeating the giant Goliath to Jesus sacrificing himself on the cross. Courage is an important part of our faith and can help us in our lives as well.

Courage in our lives When do we need courage? When performing music or dance. When taking an exam. When speaking to a class at school. This all takes a certain amount of courage to achieve. We might have to take time to find the courage to do it but it is sometimes important to do these things. To push ourselves to do something out of our comfort zone.

The courage to say no Sometimes in life, we have to say no or disagree with other people. This sometimes takes courage. For example if a person you know, is doing things that you know are wrong, would you have the strength to tell them to stop? It’s most likely that you wouldn’t under normal circumstances. But if you have a little courage then maybe you would.

Courage as a necessity Courage is one of the most important aspects of being a human. To strive for what is right no matter what. To stand up and share something with people you may not know. It is something all people have to have at some point in their lives or another. A historic example of courage could be somebody like Martin Luther King Jr. We all know who he is but all the same, he had to have the initial measure of courage to do what he did; if we had even a fraction of the commitment and courage that he had, we would be better people.
