Work Session: Finish Small Group Lesson 7 – Consumption Patterns in the United States – The Impact of Living Well Analyze and discuss cartogram of computer/internet consumption patterns – pg. 112 Analyze and discuss a cartogram of global production (GDP) – pg. 113 Beginning to Think Globally & Global Connections – pgs. 114-117 “Last 30 Literacy Wednesday” – Flying Cars Article – Anticipation/Reaction Guide & Small Group reading/sharing Closing Cool-down: In your small reading group develop a cool-down question starting with “why”, “how”, or “do you think” using at least three of these vocabulary terms from this unit and ideas from the article: flying cars (must use), metropolitan area, rural fringe, suburb, urban fringe, urban sprawl, traffic congestion, air pollution, developed country, production, or GDP. We will draw a name for a student to ask that question to the class and take responses. Essential Question: How do American consumption patterns affect people and the planet?
