BE SAFE STAY SAFE June 2019 Stand-Down NEEDLE SAFETY When cleaning there exists a chance to come into contact with sharp items such as broken glass or even needles. Although small we should always be alert and avoid activities that put ourselves at risk. IF EVER CUT OR PUNCTURED BY A NEEDLE OR OTHER SHARP OBJECT REPORT THE INCIDENT IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR SUPERVISOR AND SEEK MEDICAL TREATMENT. KEEP OUT OF THE TRASH! Never reach inside a trash can Never push down on trash to compact or to make more room Never empty trash with hands – dump container or remove liner Avoid trash liners from touching your leg/body when handling. SHARPS CONTAINERS Never reach inside Report containers ¾ full for disposal Never place in normal trash You are NOT authorized to handle
