Summary Creates alternative pathways for high school graduation for learners that do not acquire proficiency on the Alg I, Literature, and Biology Keystone Assessments Project Based Assessments officially eliminated Four Options Effective 2021-2022 school year
Option One A learner meets the proficiency level on at least one Keystone Assessment and at least basic on the other two Keystone Assessments. Baseline proficiency score posted by PDE on July 30th 2019 This baseline core will be reviewed and revised as necessary every 5 years
Option Two Local grade requirements PLUS alternative assessments, course/programs acceptance to college A learner completes locally established minimum grades in the three Keystone assessed courses PLUS ONE OF: Attainment of established score on SAT, PSAT, ACT, or ASVAB Attainment of at least the GOLD level on the ACT WorkKeys assessment Attainment of established score on AP or IB exam in the associated Keystone course area Passing of a concurrent course or any postsecondary course in the associated Keystone Exam area Successful completion of a pre-apprenticeship program Acceptance to an an accredited four-year institute of higher ed and evidence of the ability to enroll in college level, credit bearing coursework
Option Three Local Grade Requirements PLUS additional CTE evidence of readiness Industry based competency certification on tests such as the National Occupation Competency (NOCTI) or National Institute of Metalworkers Skill (NIMS). Decision on eligibility must be made by end of 1st semester of the learner’s first semester of their senior year.
Option Four Local grade requirements PLUS two tiers of additional evidence of readiness One piece of evidence from: ACT Workeys Assessment Proficient Score (May be below Gold) SAT Proficient Score on subject specific course Acceptance to an accredited higher ed institution other than a 4 year, and evidence of ability to enroll in college level credit bearing coursework Attainment of an industry recognized credential Attainment of an established score on an AP or IB exam Successful completion of a concurrent enrollment course or any postsecondary course
Two pieces of evidence may be from Tier 2 Any additional piece from Tier I Satisfactory completion of service learning project pre- approved by Superintendent Attainment of a Prof or Adv score on a Keystone A letter guaranteeing full-time employment A certificate of successful completion of an internship, externship, or cooperative education program Satisfactory compliance with the NCAA core courses for college-bound athletes with a minimum 2.0 GPA or equivalency
